Our Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite solutions are redefining connectivity and reshaping the future of aviation.

SKYTRAC is seeking a temporary Technical Writer to take a lead role on a project, ensuring SKYTRAC customers and the Customer Integration team have clear, accurate, and accessible documentation that supports effective product use and troubleshooting.

This position focuses on designing, reviewing, validating, and transitioning both internal and external content—such as user guides and customer-facing materials—to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with SKYTRAC’s products, branding, and terminology.

The project is expected to be approximately 3-4 months in duration. While we ideally seek someone who can be available in a hybrid capacity from our Ottawa, ON or Kelowna, BC offices, we are open to qualified candidates located anywhere in Canada.

Responsibilities include:
  • Write, review and verify the accuracy of internal and external technical documents, user guides, and customer-facing materials. Includes reviewing drawings and design reports, writing text, and coordinating layout and design of materials.
  • Explain technical data in simple language.
  • Assess documentation for clarity, completeness, and technical correctness in collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, and Technical Support teams.
  • Edit and update materials to reflect the latest product features, configurations, and terminology.
  • Transition externally published documents into SKYTRAC’s format, branding, and quality standards (AS9100-compliant).
  • Identify outdated or redundant materials and coordinate their revision or retirement.
  • Ensure version control and all approved documentation is properly stored and accessible in Confluence or designated repositories.
  • Ensure consistent style, tone, and formatting across all documentation sets.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, documentation control, or content development and auditing, preferably within aerospace, avionics, or SaaS technical environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the proven ability to translate complex technical information into simple, usable instructions.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
This will make you stand out:
  • Familiarity with aviation systems or similar complex technical environment.
  • AS9100 or similar QMS systems experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, terminology and a technical product development lifecycle.
