What You’ll Do
Position Overview :

As a technical service Advisor for manufacturing plants, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing all fixed assets including pumps, valves, other production-related equipment, storage, and utility systems. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective use of these assets. The position also requires engineering level of technical competency for understanding and capabilities calculation and application of fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Develop a deep understanding of the site’s business cycle and operations dynamics.
  • Identify the contributions of your duties and how they impact the company’s ability to deliver on its promises to customers, employees, and investors.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain the company’s plant process to ensure safe & reliable use.
  • Provide engineering recommendations for best practices in plant operations for manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical details of all parts and equipment in the plant process to manufacturing plants, ensuring that necessary parts and supplies are readily available and that costs are controlled.
  • Assist the operations teams in purchasing parts and supplies needed for repair and maintenance of equipment, aligning with Dyno Nobel’s standard maintenance practices in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain active and continuous communication with operations managers to effectively manage the parts and equipment.
  • Ensure timely processing of all required reporting and receiving.
  • Provide guidance, support & training to local site managers, site mechanics and operators, as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions, actively managing safety issues and practicing the Take 5! process using the HAT tool to promote personal responsibility for safety.
  • Prioritize the safety of all crew members and others on the site, ensuring that everyone follows all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to create a safe and successful event.
What We’re Looking For :
  • Minimum high school diploma, vocational trade school diploma or certification or equivalent. A university engineering degree will be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of French is a plus, but not a must.
  • Extensive experience (7 to 10 years and above) in operating manufacturing processes and a deep understanding of mechanical fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with electrical and fluid handling systems.
  • Ability to travel to all provinces in Canada and the USA via both air and land routes.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player mentality.
Additional Requirements :
  • Must pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing and background screening as a prerequisite for handling explosives.
  • Valid driver’s license: ability to operate light vehicles and mobile equipment is an asset.
  • Physically fit to perform manual labor and able to work at heights or in confined spaces.
