Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Sales to lead and manage all sales functions. This role is responsible for directing both inside and outside sales teams, maintaining strong customer relationships, providing technical solutions, and ensuring seamless communication between sales, production, and service departments. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving revenue growth, expanding market reach, and supporting the company's overall strategic goals. This is not a remote position; must be available to work in an office environment, M-F.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution :

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing action plan.
  • Identify customer needs through market analysis and client feedback.
  • Oversee the sales cycle from quotation through to delivery and post-sales service.
  • Approve OEM sales contracts and quotations within established pricing structures.
  • Lead negotiations with OEMs and key clients to meet or exceed margin targets.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.

Team Leadership & Supervision :

  • Direct, hire, train, and evaluate inside and outside sales staff, including service and parts teams.
  • Assign territories, establish quotas and objectives, and monitor performance.
  • Manage relationships with sales agents and distributor networks.
  • Foster a results-driven, customer-focused sales culture.

Reporting & Forecasting :

  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and trends.
  • Track and analyze key sales metrics, including quotation success rate.
  • Maintain a forward-looking pipeline of expected orders.
  • Analyze lost sales and implement corrective strategies.

Budget & Financial Management :

  • Develop and manage annual sales and marketing budgets.
  • Prepare accurate sales and margin forecasts.
  • Ensure departmental expenses remain within approved limits.
Qualifications

Education :

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Formal education in sales and marketing.
  • Training in supervision and time management preferred.

Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar technical sales leadership role.
  • Experience in both inside and outside sales, including international markets.
  • Familiarity with product assembly or technical support is a strong asset.

Skills :

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude, including basic drafting skills.
