Job summary

ATCO Electric in Edmonton is seeking a technically skilled professional to plan and develop its 25 kV distribution system, ensuring safe, reliable service for customers.

This role focuses on distribution planning and protection, supporting customer connections, and implementing distribution infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include system studies, protection schemes, equipment settings, and project execution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Post-secondary technology diploma in a related discipline from a recognized Canadian institute required.
• May require registration with A.S.E.T.

Responsibilities

• Produces, edits, analyzes and models data specific to the team function.
• Prepares and submits reports and/or analyses in a timely manner for monthly, quarterly, annual and other reports.
• Gathers data and coordinates schedules for audits.
• Tests and facilitates field implementation of hardware and software.
• Provides technical support and assistance as required for the team function.
• Participates in project planning meetings and liaises with internal groups.
• Develops and maintains policies.

About the Role:

This role is responsible for planning and developing ATCO Electric’s 25 kV distribution system to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service for customers. The position focuses on distribution planning and protection, supporting customer connections, and system improvement projects. Responsibilities include conducting system studies, developing protection schemes, issuing equipment settings, and designing and implementing distribution infrastructure projects.

What You GettoDo:

Under general supervision, employees perform various duties within their area of assigned duties.

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

• Produces, edits, analyzes and models data specific to the team function.

• Gathers data and coordinates schedules for various audits.

What You Bring:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a post-secondary technology diploma in a related discipline from a recognized Canadian institute of technology.
• May berequiredtoattainregistration with A.S.E.T.
• 2 - 5 years of related experience.
