SUMMARY

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) is responsible to ensure projects are planned, executed, completed on time, within scope and on budget. This role drives delivery across PZT ceramics, acoustic sensors, and compact thin-line towed array programs. Our systems business unit is maturing; processes are ISO 9001:2015 compliant but mid-refresh; and supply chains can be lumpy. This role is vital in bridging the gap between technical teams and stakeholders to plan work, align partners, unblock builds/validation, and land milestones.

Responsibilities
  • Plan & Track: 8–12-week integrated schedules across engineering, procurement, assembly/test, and partner work.
  • Run the Cadence: weekly internal build readiness, external partner sync, and a concise exec update.
  • Unblock Flow: surface material constraints/alternates, secure decisions, and ensure document readiness.
  • Report Clearly and Timely: lightweight dashboards on milestones, risks, materials status, and budget-to-plan.
  • Support Monthly Funding Claims: coordinate inputs; Finance submits.
  • Provide Feedback: communicate effectively with business units on technical aspects of work.
  • Technical Direction: provide direction to team from definition phase through to implementation.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years’ experience managing technical/manufacturing or R&D projects.
  • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial), Physics/Applied Science, or Industrial/Manufacturing Management.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner required OR willing to obtain within a reasonable timeframe agreed, as a condition of hire.
  • ScrumMaster/Agile certification an asset.
  • A hunger for knowledge and the drive to take on challenges in an ever-evolving work environment.
  • Confidence to ask for help and to vocalize thoughts and questions.
  • A strong understanding of project management principles, tools, software, and techniques.
  • Strong scheduling & dependency management (MS Project, Project Planner).
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Clear communicator with strong business writing.
  • Working knowledge and comfortable with MS 365/Teams/SharePoint.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to solve complex problems in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to effectively work with and collaborate with all levels of the organization to drive results.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Nice to have; software development project coordination, basic Power BI/Power Automate, and supplier coordination experience.
  • Eligibility for Controlled Goods is an asset.
