Job summary

Xanadu in Toronto seeks a motivated Technical Project Manager to drive complex engineering programs from planning to delivery.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in technical project management or engineering roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or related field.
• Experience working with software, hardware, systems or other technical teams.
• Strong project planning, organization, and execution skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to identify risks, dependencies, and blockers and drive resolution.

Responsibilities

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated and technically capable Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join our Engineering / Program Management team in Toronto to help drive complex engineering projects from planning through successful delivery. In this full-time role, you will work closely with engineering, R&D, and cross-functional teams to establish project plans, track execution, manage dependencies and risks, and ensure teams remain aligned on priorities, milestones, and deliverables.

• Lead the planning and execution of technical projects from initiation through completion.
• Define project scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies.
• Develop, track, and maintain project schedules and execution plans using project management tools to improve visibility, accountability, and execution.
• Identify schedule, resource, technical, and execution risks early and drive mitigation plans.
• Partner closely with engineering leads, architects, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate project kickoffs, planning sessions, status reviews, and retrospectives.
• Establish clear ownership and accountability across project activities while managing cross-team dependencies and resolving execution blockers.
• Drive alignment when there are competing priorities or changing requirements.
• Understand and communicate the impact of technical decisions on schedule, scope, cost, and resources.
• Maintain clear and accurate project documentation, ensuring important decisions and action items are documented and followed through.
• Provide concise project status updates to engineering leadership and stakeholders, establishing effective communication mechanisms across teams and time zones.
• Identify opportunities to continuously improve project execution, planning, tracking, communication, and project management best practices.

Basic qualifications and experience

• 2–5 years of experience in technical project management or engineering roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience working with software, hardware, systems, or other technical engineering teams.
• Strong project planning, organization, and execution skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to identify risks, dependencies, and blockers and drive them toward resolution.

Preferred qualifications and experience

• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced technology environment.
• Experience managing projects involving multiple engineering disciplines or teams.
• Experience with technical product development, hardware/software integration, semiconductor, quantum computing, or other advanced technology environments.
• Experience creating project schedules, roadmaps, dashboards, and status reports.
• PMP, CAPM, Scrum Master, or other project/program management certification.
• Technical background or previous experience working as an engineer, developer, systems engineer, or technical analyst.

This is for a new position. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and internal benchmarks. The base salary range is 90,000 - 120,000 CAD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
