Job summary

Sterling Industries is seeking an experienced Program Manager to oversee medical device projects from planning through delivery at our Woodbridge, Ontario site.

You will coordinate with customers and internal teams, ensure timelines and budgets are met, and drive successful program execution across the full product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a technical field such as Industrial, Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Biomedical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or 3 years with advanced degree, across full product lifecycle.
  • Medical device product development experience (Class 2 or 3) with FDA/ICH/IEC awareness.
  • Proven technical experience in Engineering and/or Quality alongside Project Management.
  • Experience with problem-solving methodologies; ability to work in virtual teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams to ensure on-time and on-budget performance through the new product development cycle.
  • Create strategic solutions to meet anticipated customer and business needs with predictability and certainty.
  • Ensure scope, cost, resource and schedule alignment between operations and core project team functions.
  • Follow compliance processes for Design and Development and New Project Implementation.
  • Apply structured problem methods and predictive engineering principles (e.g., Lean, six sigma) as required.
  • Manage deadlines and execution of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Act as primary contact between customers and internal teams; provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Salary Range: $100,000.00 To $125,000.00 Annually

We help our clients bring successful products to market by providing scaled production, design-for-manufacturing expertise, suppliers consolidation, and other critical value chain services.

About the Position

In this role, you will oversee projects from planning through delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, performance targets, and customer expectations are met. You will work closely with customers to understand high-level technical and business requirements, translate them into clear priorities for the project team, and drive successful execution from start to finish.

MAJOR DUTIES
Program Management and Technical Responsibilities
  • Lead project teams to ensure on-time and on-budget performance through the new product development cycle
  • Create strategic solutions to meet anticipated customer and business needs with predictability and certainty
  • Ensure scope, cost, resource and schedule alignment between operations and core project team functions
  • Follow compliance processes for Design and Development and New Project Implementation
  • Ensure structured problem methods and predictive engineering principles are consistently and rigorously applied, such as Design for Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar concepts.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills (able to review results / situations, and determine follow-up action plans)
  • Manage deadlines and execution of multiple concurrent projects
  • Adaptable and flexible - able to take on additional work requirements, in addition to core responsibilities, as required
Communications & Influence Responsibilities
  • Create reports for both internal use and client presentations
  • Act as primary point of contact between customers and internal teams
  • Liaise and resolve conflicts between Engineering, Quality, and Operations related to project execution
  • Provide regular updates to project stakeholders, manage expectations and communicate requirements to the project team
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a technical field such as Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience with full product lifecycle with understanding of development lifecycle and various technology methodologies that support that lifecycle
  • Medical device product development (Class 2 or 3) experience and a strong understanding of FDA, ICH, and IEC standards
  • Proven technical experience with depth of knowledge in Engineering and/or Quality in addition to Project Management experience
  • Experience with problem solving methodologies
  • Experience working in virtual teams
  • Experience in new product development and product lifecycle
  • Skilled negotiator with demonstrated ability to create mutually beneficial results and negotiate trade-offs
