Job summary

Sanmina Corporation’s Advanced Microsystems Technologies (AMT) seeks an experienced Technical Program Manager to drive development, transfer to manufacturing, and NPI activities for optical transceivers and related initiatives.

You will lead cross-functional teams from concept to volume manufacturing, manage schedules and budgets, communicate with customers, and ensure programs meet contractual terms while delivering on time and within scope. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, concise articulation.
  • Experience in product development and transferring to manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and documentation.
  • Ability to analyze project data and develop mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project schedules in MS Project with resource estimation.
  • Support business development and engineering in proposals and RFIs/RFQs.
  • Define development program scope in line with customer requirements.
  • Ensure decisions align with contract terms and customer protocols.
  • Track schedules, reports, risks, and mitigation actions.
  • Apply financial acumen to keep projects within budget.
  • Coordinate prototype/pre-production builds and supply chain.
  • Lead NPI activities including ramp planning and qualification.

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to join the multidisciplinary development team to support the design, development and transfer to manufacturing of advanced optical transceivers and other initiatives, meeting our customers’ needs. The position involves both leading and supporting projectsacross various development phases, from concept definition through to implementation into volume manufacturing.

NATURE OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for developing project schedules in MS Project (resource & effort estimation) collaboratively with subject matter experts to deliver products meeting customer requirements, defining objectives, setting timelines, cost, resource assignments and mitigating risks.
  • Support the business development and engineering teams in the creation and communication of customer program proposals in response to customer RFIs or RFQs.
  • Working with the development team, define all aspects of the development program through our Product Development Process, in-line with customers requirements.
  • Ensure that all project decisions are guided by the commercial terms and conditions of our customer's contract(s), and customer management including communication/engagement protocols, reporting procedures and documentation.
  • Tracking and reporting on project schedules and key deliverables. This may involve evaluating risks, providing guidance through data collection and analysis, developing mitigation strategies, and escalating issues to management as required.
  • Apply financial acumen to ensure that projects remain within budgetary constraints.
  • Documentation and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Oversee prototype and pre-production builds through definition and management of build plans and supply chain.
  • Responsible for definition and execution of NPI activities, including, but not limited to supply chain management and qualification, ramp planning and scheduling, manufacturing readiness and product qualification and supply/demand management.
  • Some travel may be required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8years of direct and relevant experience in Program Management and/or Product Development.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Must be able to articulate thoughts concisely.
  • Understanding of the product development process, from concept design, to NPI, through to volume manufacturing, including qualification.
  • Experience transferring complex products and processes into manufacturing.
  • Experience analyzing project related data and utilization of standard project management tools and documentation and planning systems.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with design teams and customers to resolve complex issues with novel solutions.
  • Experience in a broad range of optical and microelectronic technologies, including materials and components and their supply chains, is considered an asset.
OTHER INFORMATION
  • The compensation range for this position is $120,000- $155,000annually.
  • This position is for an existing vacancy.
