Job summary

ROBIC, a respected Canadian IP firm, seeks a technical patent advisor (Patent Agent in training) to join our team. You will draft patent applications with experienced agents and learn through strong mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, telecommunications, or information technology.
• Master’s degree in electronic engineering, telecommunications, or information technology (an asset).
• Strong written and verbal communication in French and English.
• Publications as first author (an asset).
• Ability to understand complex concepts.
• Professionalism and business acumen.
• Autonomy, initiative, and resourcefulness.

Responsibilities

• Work with inventors to understand technologies and identify IP protection.
• Draft patent applications in Canada and internationally.
• Prepare opinions on patentability, infringement, validity, and freedom to operate.
• Apply scientific knowledge daily in a legal business environment.
• Meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Communicate with clients verbally and in writing to respond to requests.

ROBIC is looking for a technical patent advisor (Patent Agent in training) to join our team. The selected candidate will contribute to drafting patent applications in collaboration with patent agents recognized as experts in their respective fields (engineering, science, etc.).
