Job summary

AMD in Markham, Ontario, is seeking a software engineer who loves AI and semiconductors. You will design and prototype AI pipelines, optimize performance, and build demos that showcase new GPU-accelerated capabilities to stakeholders and customers.

The role requires strong Python and C/C++, experience with ML libraries, and collaboration across engineering, marketing, and sales to translate technology into tangible product concepts. Bachelor's in Engineering is required.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Python and ML libraries (NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Strong C/C++ skills and GPU programming experience (ROCm, CUDA, or OpenCL).
  • Experience with Git and Linux system administration.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to translate research into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Python-based AI pipelines for demos and validation.
  • Create and automate demo scripts and documentation for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams on use cases.
  • Document code, design decisions, and test results for cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in team meetings and cross-functional projects.

The Role

The Person
  • Will demonstrate a creative mindset through storytelling, messaging, and market positioning initiatives.
  • Will explore and apply knowledge of AI, technology, innovation, and product strategy to support marketing efforts.
  • Will manage multiple priorities and execute tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Research emerging AI techniques
    • Look into the latest AI technologies, and develop proof‑of‑concepts for inclusion into demo pipeline
  • Develop & maintain Python‑based AI pipelines
    • Develop custom code to support demo capabilities and validate performance
  • Demo development
    • Build quick, interactive prototypes to showcase new AI/graphics capabilities to stakeholders, customers, and at industry events
    • Develop, harden and automate demo scripting and documentation to maximize impact and reach
  • Use case development
    • Work with sales, marketing, and product teams to translate new technologies and demo ideas into concrete persona-based feature and validation plans
  • Document code, design decisions, test plans and test results
    • Strong documentation to ensure best alignment across teams and compliance with internal engineering & marketing standards.
  • Project & Team Collaboration
    • Participate in team meetings, brainstorms, and cross-functional projects.
    • Work with technical marketing, engineering, product management, corporate marketing, and sales teams to align messaging and execution.
Preferred Experience
  • Must have experience with Python and relevant libraries/frameworks such as NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Must have excellent C/C++ and at least one GPU programming framework, such as ROCm, CUDA, or OpenCL.
  • Must have experience using version control systems (e.g., Git) and understanding of Linux system administration.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to synthesize research into clear, actionable insights.
Academic Credentials

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
