Job summary

Ubisoft Montréal is seeking a Senior UI Programmer – Technical Lead to act as the primary technical contact for all UI systems on a AAA first-person shooter project. You will bridge engineering, UI integration, and art to deliver polished, performant, and accessible UI across gameplay, menus, HUD and frontend.

You will lead a team of UI integrators and technical artists, define UI standards, and drive architectural decisions while collaborating closely with UX/UI designers to ensure design

Qualifications

• Shipped 2+ AAA titles with substantial UI programming ownership.
• Deep experience with a visual/node-based UI scripting system (UI Graph or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ability to profile and optimize UI in a real-time engine.
• Experience debugging and resolving crashes in a production game.
• Track record supervising or mentoring UI Integrators or junior programmers.
• Solid grasp of UI architecture: components, data binding, state management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to expert for all UI technologies in the project: Snowdrop UI framework, project UI systems, and tools.
• Manage the UI technical roadmap: architecture decisions, framework upgrades, deprecations.
• Define and enforce UI coding standards, component templates, and integration workflows.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks hindering UI integrators and artists.
• Supervise a team of UI integrators and technical artists in the UI Graph editor.
• Review work for accuracy, performance, and adherence to design intent.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure technical alignment with design.
