Job summary

Canada Digital Bank in Toronto is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to expand our banking platform and guide the team through hands‑on architectural design, ensuring security and scalability across microservices.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with design and product teams, drive CI/CD practices, and stay ahead of emerging technologies to deliver reliable digital experiences for millions of customers.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software development experience with 2+ years as a technical lead providing hands-on architectural design.
  • University Degree in Computer Science.
  • Experience with REST & SOAP web services, cloud development, and scalable software.
  • Strong knowledge of design patterns and unit testing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on architectural design for software applications.
  • Mentor, teach, and share knowledge within the team.
  • Collaborate with Design and Product teams to prototype and deliver.
  • Drive CI/CD practices and continuous improvement.

As a Technical Lead, you will be joining one of our teams, expanding our banking platform. You will be contributing to the development of world‑class digital products and experiences touching millions of the company customers every day. Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

University Degree – Computer Science.

You have 7 years or more of software development experience, (conceptualization, design, development and debugging) with 2 years as a technical lead providing hands‑on architectural design for software applications.

Sound technical knowledge with:
  • Java, J2EE
  • Spring Boot (Micro Services)
  • Web Services (REST & SOAP)
  • Java Script, Junit, HTML, XSL, XML, Angular 2+
  • Cloud development, Site Reliability Engineering
  • Design patterns such as MVVM, MVC, Clean Architecture
  • Unit‑testing, code for robustness, usability and improving application performance
  • Large‑scale software development – security and scalability considerations
  • Code versioning tools (e.g., GIT)
  • Computer Science concepts (SOLID, etc.)
  • Integrating Third‑Party libraries and SDKs
  • Building applications consuming web services and HTTP REST interaction with JSON
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities
  • Evaluating new technologies and continuous improvement of applications and systems
  • Passionate about well‑designed products and collaborating with Design Team for prototyping and wireframes
