Job description

As a Professional, Engineering - Structures Design Integrator, you will independently execute defined engineering assignments and contribute to technical decisions within established practices. Your work will focus on aircraft structural design, from configuration and concept development through detailed definition, production support, certification support, and in-service changes.

  • Structural Design & Definition
    • Develop and review structural concepts, 3D models, assemblies, installation drawings, and detail drawings for assigned airframe areas.
    • Define metallic and composite parts, joints, interfaces, fastener concepts, tolerances, and provisions in accordance with applicable design requirements.
    • Apply sound design practices for load paths, producibility, assembly, inspection, maintainability, weight, and cost.
  • Technical Integration & Collaboration
    • Coordinate structural definition with stress, materials and processes, systems installation, aerodynamics, interiors, manufacturing, quality, and other affected disciplines.
    • Resolve geometric and physical-interface conflicts and support technical trade studies.
    • Participate in design reviews and communicate design intent, assumptions, constraints, and open items.
  • Design Maturity, Compliance & Support
    • Support substantiation and certification activities by providing complete and traceable design definition and technical rationale.
    • Support production, supplier, and in-service investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective design action.
    • Manage design changes and maintain configuration and product-definition data in the applicable PLM environment.
  • Level-specific contribution
    • Own defined design assignments from initial definition through release, with support available for non-routine decisions.
    • Perform technical checks, investigate issues, and recommend solutions using established methods and standards.
  • Provide reliable status, identify risks early, and support less-experienced colleagues on familiar tasks
Education & experience
  • Bachelor degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline, as appropriate to the role. A technologist degree may be considered based on relevant experience.
