Job description
About Megaport

We’re not your typical tech company and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS) and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud data centres and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 350 people spread across Asia‑Pacific, Europe and the Americas our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive and (actually) fun.

Our Team Culture

We’re a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here: collaboration beats hierarchy; curiosity fuels our growth and everyone’s voice matters. We take our work seriously but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly we place our customers at the center of everything we do.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Software Development this role will facilitate the gathering and communication of requirements between stakeholders and the engineering teams. Your main tasks will include performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes and communicating findings. To succeed in this role you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non‑technical users. A large part of this role is working with stakeholders to elicit problem statements and detailed requirements and to be able to communicate this to the engineering teams. You will work closely with the QA team to document acceptance criteria.

What you will be doing
  • Leading requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand and document product requirements. Facilitate a shared understanding of outcomes across the business.
  • Visualizing technical design, system workflows, user journeys, business processes, etc. to ensure that there is a clear understanding of the business outcomes.
  • Bridging the gap between business and engineering teams by transforming functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
  • Building and managing a prioritized backlog of user stories for the team.
  • Collaborate with engineers to clearly communicate and refine product requirements.
  • Facilitating agile refinement sessions to foster a shared understanding of project goals and impacts across diverse teams.
  • Proactively improve existing processes to ensure we are collaborating efficiently and effectively across business and engineering teams.
What we are looking for
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in business analysis or a related field.
  • The ability to work closely with stakeholders to determine acceptable solutions.
  • The ability to write clear and concise documentation and to clearly communicate complex processes to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time‑management skills. Familiarity with Agile development principles and demonstrable experience working in Agile teams.
  • Experience working with API web services and experience working on web‑based software projects.
  • Experience with networking technologies is advantageous but not required.
What we offer
  • Flexible working environment: a remote‑first culture with coworking options available.
  • Generous leave plans including 4 weeks of paid annual leave, parental leave, birthday leave and a purchased annual leave programme.
  • Health and wellness support through a wellness allowance and employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Comprehensive learning support: generous study and training allowance plus 5 days of paid study leave.
  • Creative modern workspaces designed to inspire when you’re not working remotely.
  • Motivated inclusive team work alongside industry experts and fresh talent.
  • Recognition programmes: celebrate achievements with our Legend and Kudos awards.
