Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure, the Technical Analyst – Network Operations Centre (NOC) is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting network and infrastructure services that underpin clinical, administrative, and operational systems across hospital and healthcare sites. The role requires strong technical capability, disciplined operational practices, and the ability to work effectively in a mission-critical environment where system reliability and security directly impact patient care and service delivery.

What You’ll Do
  • Monitor network, systems, and infrastructure using NOC tools and dashboards in a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents, alerts, and service requests in accordance with defined processes, priorities, and SLAs.
  • Perform initial triage, troubleshooting, and escalation of network and infrastructure issues.
  • Assess incident impact with consideration for clinical and operational risk.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and changes within the IT service management system.
  • Support planned maintenance, upgrades, and configuration changes, including after-hours work as required.
  • Assist with implementation of infrastructure projects and site deployments.
  • Provide on-site technical support at hospital and healthcare customer locations when required.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams, clinical system support teams, vendors, and service providers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of NOC processes, procedures, and documentation.
MUST-HAVES
  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) or network support role, focusing on enterprise LAN, wireless LAN, and WAN services.
  • Experience with network monitoring and IT service management (ticketing) systems.
  • Experience with physical infrastructure, including copper/fiber cabling and hardware racking/stacking.
  • Proficiency in Tier 1 and Tier 2 incident management, especially for connectivity, security protocol issues, and hardware failures.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, ServiceNow).
  • Diagnostic and analytical skills for network issue resolution.
  • Incident triage, prioritization, and escalation.
  • Technical documentation, including diagrams and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for a healthcare environment with both technical and non-technical audiences.
WE VALUE
  • Relevant certifications, such as Network+ or CCNP.
  • Preferred 3–5 years of experience in a technical support, NOC, or IT operations role.
  • Experience with the Cisco enterprise ecosystem (e.g., Catalyst, Meraki, or related platforms).
  • Experience with cloud-based networking, security, or monitoring tools.
  • Experience working in IT operations within a healthcare environment, including understanding of PHIPA, PIPEDA, FIPPA or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience managing hardware lifecycle from staging to decommissioning.
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles, especially incident, change and service management processes.
  • Foundational knowledge of VOIP systems and IP-based voice communication.
OTHER CONDITIONS
  • Minimal exposure to disagreeable conditions typical of an office position: exposed to stress and pressure associated with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Must be able to travel within the Southwestern Ontario area, when required.
  • Must be able to work shifts Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 5:00pm.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends, when required.
  • Must be local and available for on-call.
