Job summary

City of Surrey is seeking an IT Solutions Engineer (Technical Lead) to translate enterprise architecture designs and business requirements into detailed technical designs and implemented solutions. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver secure, scalable IT infrastructure, platforms, cloud services, and system integrations within a large organizational environment.

You will produce detailed documentation, supervise implementation efforts, and ensure operational readiness and handover

Qualifications

• A two-year diploma in information systems with at least 6 years in an IT implementation role or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Proven ability to deliver large and complex IT solutions.
• Knowledge of computers, programming or scripting, applications, databases, networking, cloud-hosted solutions, integrations, and IT support environments.
• Strong leadership abilities and ability to guide technical teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
• Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities and delivering quality results.
• Commitment to service excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• As IT Solutions Engineer (Technical Lead), design and deliver low-level designs from high-level requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, PMs, and operations to align solutions with business goals.
• Lead infrastructure or application environment builds, configurations, and integrations.
• Direct technical resources across disciplines to achieve successful outcomes.
• Develop documentation and support procedures; ensure smooth handover to operations.
• Contribute to improving architectural approaches and repeatable IT solution frameworks.
