Job summary

OEG Sports & Entertainment in Edmonton is seeking an on-camera Team Reporter & Producer to represent the Edmonton Oilers across OilersTV, Oilers+, and EdmontonOilers.com. You will cover 84 regular season games, pre-season, and playoff action while linking with production, editorial, and PR teams to deliver compelling features, interviews, and live intermissions.

Travel with the team for road coverage, host events, and contribute to digital channels with a fast turnaround, ensuring engaging,

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in sports broadcasting as on-air talent is required.
  • Strong editing skills with Premiere Pro; After Effects and Photoshop are assets.
  • Flexible hours including weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with professional video cameras and DSLRs; Sony FS7/FX6/FX3 is a plus.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in broadcast journalism, digital media or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Edmonton Oilers and OEGSE as on-camera talent across programming, features, social content, and campaigns.
  • Produce pre-game, post-game, practice-day content for OilersTV and Oilers+.
  • Conduct interviews and contribute questions to players, coaches and management.
  • Produce, film and support short- and long-form content with video production teams.
  • Provide in-game analysis during intermission reports at home games.
  • Travel with the team for exclusive coverage on Oilers digital channels as needed.
  • Host special events for Oilers Entertainment Group and support cross‑platform content.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Lead Team Reporter, the Team Reporter & Producer will serve as an on-camera talent across all OEGSE digital channels, representing the Edmonton Oilers and OEG Sports & Entertainment. Responsibilities include comprehensive coverage of all 84 regular season home/away games, pre-season action, and NHL Stanley Cup Playoff games as required.

Your Focus in this Role:
  • Represent the Edmonton Oilers and OEG Sports & Entertainment as on-camera talent across original programming, digital features, social content, and promotional campaigns
  • Produce pre-game, post-game, practice day, and other features for OilersTV and Oilers+
  • Conduct interviews and contribute questions to Edmonton Oilers players, coaches, and management throughout media availabilities
  • Produce, film, and support the delivery of both short-form and long-form content in partnership with the video production and creative content teams.
  • Contribute to Oilers home games by providing in-game analysis during OTV Intermission Reports
  • Fosters positive relationships with hockey operations including players, coaches, team staff and PR team
  • Travels with the team on road trips to provide exclusive coverage for Oilers digital channels as needed
  • Hosts special events for Oilers Entertainment Group including but not limited to Oilers Skills Competition, autograph sessions, golf tournaments, charitable initiatives and other corporate partnerships functions
  • Support written and video content across all Edmonton Oilers and OEGSE platforms including (but not limited to)EdmontonOilers.com, YouTube, Oilers+ and the Oilers Mobile App

Education, Experience and Skills:
  • Prior experience in sports broadcasting role or as on-air talent is required.
  • Strong editing skills on Adobe Premiere Pro a requirement; Knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop an asset
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible and unpredictable hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience operating a variety of professional video cameras and DSLRs; experience operating Sony Cameras including the FS7, FX6, and FX3 considered an asset
  • Communicates effectively, builds employee relationships, and provides support to all key stakeholders to ensure achievement of OEG Inc. goals and objectives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick content turnaround deadlines
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in broadcast journalism, digital media or related field
  • Must possess a valid passport for potential team travel outside of Canada
