Role Overview

The Team Manager – Production leads, coaches, and develops a production team to meet or exceed SQDCPME targets (safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, morale, environment). They ensure daily production goals are achieved, maintain compliance with health and safety requirements, and drive continuous improvement using Ford Production System principles.

In addition to standard Team Manager duties, this role deploys advanced Lean methods and optimizes Materials, Planning & Logistics (MP&A) within their area. The Team Manager leads Kaizen, VSM, and SMED efforts; drives machining and tooling optimization; owns local inventory performance; and partners closely with Maintenance and Process Engineering to deliver measurable improvements in RTY, JPH, and cost. This position is a hands‑on change leader and mentor who translates Lean projects into sustained operational results.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline. Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.
  • 5+ years manufacturing experience
  • 2–5 years leading Lean implementation projects on the plant floor.
  • Demonstrated experience with lean manufacturing basics and FPS; experience using data for decisions.
  • Proven supervisory / leadership experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment (automotive / powertrain preferred).
  • Proven track record delivering measurable JPH / RTY improvements and cost avoidance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Lean / Six Sigma (Green / Black Belt) or equivalent.
  • Proficient project management, change leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in unionized environments and supplier development.
  • Excellent coaching and servant‑leadership style.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage crises, multi‑task, and present to plant management.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word / Excel / Outlook) and manufacturing systems.
