Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
• Significant post-qualification experience within Children’s Social Care.
• Previous management or supervisory experience in a children’s social work setting.
• Strong knowledge of children’s legislation, safeguarding procedures, and statutory guidance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations of a team of social workers and personal advisors to deliver high-quality services to children and families.
• Provide professional supervision, guidance, and performance management to staff.
• Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are effectively managed and children’s welfare remains central.
• Support senior management with strategic planning, policy implementation, and service development.
• Monitor team performance against KPI and ensure statutory timescales are met.
• Manage budgets and resources while maintaining value for money.
• Develop partnerships with internal/external stakeholders for coordinated services.
