What you will do:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of a team of social workers and personal advisors, ensuring high-quality services are delivered to children and families.
- Provide professional supervision, guidance, and performance management, supporting staff development and promoting best practice.
- Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are effectively managed and that children’s welfare remains at the centre of all decision-making.
- Support senior management by contributing to strategic planning, policy implementation, and service development.
- Monitor team performance against key performance indicators and ensure statutory responsibilities are met within required timescales.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring value for money while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal departments, partner agencies, and external stakeholders to deliver coordinated services.
- Oversee quality assurance activities, including auditing casework and ensuring compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, and council procedures.
Requirements:
- A recognised Social Work qualification.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualification experience within Children’s Social Care.
- Previous management or supervisory experience within a children’s social work setting.
- Strong knowledge of children’s legislation, safeguarding procedures, and statutory guidance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
