Qualifications

Reports to: Logistics Supervisor or Manager

Location: 2621 Gore Road, Shanty Bay

Hours: Monday to Friday from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am (afternoons)

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Prepare for a smooth start-up, know the workload for the day, and present the start-up meeting information, ensuring clear communication. Motivate and maintain a positive work environment.
  2. Verify that the Forklift Check Sheets are filled out properly, and ensure the proper Work Instructions are available and up to date.
  3. Monitor workload versus manpower, moving manpower throughout the warehouse to ensure maximum efficiency.
  4. Lead, manage, and develop team members in a positive and constructive manner, including cross-training and maintaining a Training Matrix. Provide training to associates as required, including practical dialectic training components.
  5. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, ISO standards, and all relevant legislation, including the Human Rights Code, OHSA, and ESA.
  6. Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the day. Communicate with fellow Team Leaders to share cross-shift information. Review and manage all emails promptly.
  7. Maintain daily logistics numbers on the whiteboard before the start-up meeting.
  8. Track attendance, overtime, absences, and time off of associates, ensuring accuracy in HRIS. Conduct performance reviews and report safety, quality, performance, and production concerns to the Supervisor/Manager.
  9. Assist in developing and implementing safety, quality, and productivity improvement plans, including principles of 5S, and provide initial reports. Promote and conduct daily 5S audits.
  10. Report inventory discrepancies to Inventory Control for adjustments.
  11. Partner with Managers and Supervisors to support Y-gaya meetings.
  12. Report all First Aid incidents to the H&S Coordinator.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or 4-5 years of relevant work experience with confirmed basic literacy in English and Math.
  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preference for candidates with previous leadership experience.
  • Willingness and ability to learn computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and D365 (MRP system).
  • Willingness to learn new skills and methods.
  • Ability to lead a team and teach others.
  • A valid forklift certificate is an asset.
