Job summary

WSP Canada seeks a Team Lead, Building Mechanical – Vertical Infrastructure (Water & Wastewater) to lead design delivery for critical water facilities. You will mentor engineers, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and engage clients to deliver innovative solutions that protect resources and communities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • P.Eng. designation in a Canadian jurisdiction.
  • 10+ years delivering mechanical building systems for infrastructure, industrial, municipal, or water/wastewater facilities.
  • Experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, odour control, and process-support mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, and building mechanical tools.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 820, ASHRAE, CSA, ASME and building codes.
  • Ability to build client relationships and support business development.

Join a team shaping some of Canada's most critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. As Team Lead, Building Mechanical – Vertical Infrastructure (Water & Wastewater), you will combine technical expertise, people leadership, and client engagement to deliver innovative facilities that support communities and protect vital resources.

In this player-coach leadership role, you will guide multidisciplinary project delivery, mentor and develop talented engineers and designers, and contribute directly to the growth of WSP's Building Mechanical practice across the municipal and industrial water sectors. Your work will influence everything from treatment plants and pumping stations to complex process-support facilities that help communities thrive.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in a Canadian jurisdiction.
  • 10+ years of experience delivering mechanical building systems for infrastructure, industrial, municipal, or water/wastewater facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, odour control, and process-support mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, and industry-standard building mechanical design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA (including NFPA 820), ASHRAE, CSA, ASME, and applicable Provincial and National Building Codes.
  • Proven ability to build client relationships, support business development initiatives, and mentor technical teams.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 – $162,800

MB & ON: $112,100 – $154,400

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111,000 – $147,400
