Job summary

Geotab seeks a Team Lead, Software Development to guide the Marketing web development team in building reliable, accessible digital experiences. You will set priorities, coach engineers and oversee websites, landing pages and campaign experiences, aligning with brand and demand-generation goals.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in software development, 2+ years in leadership, and strong communication, planning and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of experience in software development, including production web applications.
• Two or more years of experience leading, coaching or mentoring software developers.
• Strong experience building and operating responsive, accessible and high‑performance websites and web apps.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment practices (GCP preferred) and Docker.
• Experience with CMS, design systems, component libraries, web analytics, SEO, experimentation and privacy.
• Post-secondary degree in CS, SE, Web Development or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, planning, prioritization and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day technical direction and delivery of the Marketing web development team.
• Coach, mentor and develop software developers through feedback and guidance.
• Own planning and delivery of marketing websites, landing pages, campaign experiences and related web products.
• Lead technical discovery, estimation and solution design amid changing priorities.
• Establish development practices: code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability and incident response.

What you'll do

As a Team Lead, Software Development, your key responsibility will be leading the technical direction and delivery of Geotab's Marketing web development team. You will establish priorities and standards, coach and develop software developers, and oversee the planning and delivery of websites, landing pages, campaign experiences, content platforms, integrations and related web products. You will work closely with Marketing, Brand, Content, Design, Product, Analytics, SEO, Legal, Privacy, Security and other engineering teams.

To be successful in this role, you will be a collaborative, pragmatic and growth-oriented technical leader with strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex decisions to non-technical audiences. You will also bring strong planning, prioritization, risk management and stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to balance speed, quality, risk and long-term value.

How you'll make an impact

• Own the planning and delivery of marketing websites, landing pages, campaign experiences, content platforms, integrations and related web products.
• Lead technical discovery, estimation and solution design while making pragmatic decisions under changing priorities.
• Establish effective development practices, including code review, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, documentation and incident response.
• Use web analytics, search performance data, experimentation and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities and measure improvements.

What you’ll bring to this role

• Eight or more years of experience in software development, including significant experience delivering production web applications.
• Two or more years of experience leading, coaching or mentoring software developers, or equivalent technical leadership experience.
• Strong experience building and operating responsive, accessible and high-performance websites and web applications.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment practices, preferably using GCP and Docker.
• Experience with content management systems, design systems, component libraries, web analytics, SEO, experimentation and privacy considerations.
• A post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, project planning, prioritization, stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
