Team Lead Registered Veterinary Technologist RVT

Department: Emergency

Mat Leave Coverage 12-18 months

Location: Edmonton AB

Guardian Veterinary Centre a member of VCA Canada is currently welcoming a full-time Emergency Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our always-growing facility. This role will require you to oversee a team of 10 RVTs and report to the Assistant and General Managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling
  • Payroll
  • Training mentorship and development
  • Ongoing support of team members
  • Triaging ICU treatments
  • Starting client appointments
  • Collecting and running or submitting blood samples
  • Radiographs
  • Maintaining timely and accurate patient records
Qualifications for an ideal candidate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, compassionate, with the ability to adapt to the needs of the clients within the various services
  • Proven leadership skills and the desire to grow
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as is the ability to work well within a highly functioning team
  • This person will be self‑motivated to keep busy

Applicants must be registered RVTs with experience in the veterinary field and be eligible for registration with AAAHT in Alberta.

Schedule

The schedule for this position will be a combination of 4 × 10‑hour shifts and 5 × 8‑hour shifts over the Monday to Friday period.
