JOB DESCRIPTION

Team Lead, Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT

Department : Emergency

Mat Leave Coverage 12-18 months

Location : Edmonton, AB

Guardian Veterinary Centre , a member of VCA Canada, is currently welcoming a full-time Emergency Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our always-growing facility. This role will require you to oversee a team of 10+ RVTs and report to the Assistant and General Managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling
  • Payroll
  • Training, mentorship and development
  • Ongoing support of team members.
  • Other responsibilities include : triaging, ICU treatments, starting client appointments, collecting and running or submitting blood samples, radiographs, as well as maintaining timely and accurate patient records.
Qualifications for an ideal candidate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be compassionate with the ability to adapt to the needs of the clients within the various services.
  • Proven leadership skills and the desire to grow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work well within a highly functioning team.
  • This person will be self-motivated to keep busy.

Schedule : The schedule for this position will be a combination of 4 x 10-hour shifts and 5 x 8-hour shifts over the Monday to Friday period. Applicants must be registered RVTs with experience in the veterinary field and be eligible for registration with AAAHT in Alberta.
