This posting is for one unionized contractual appointment. A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM).

Total Hours of Work per Term: 45 hours

Position Summary:

This requisition is for one position, at 45 hours for the term, in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education. Course dates are January 5, 2026 to April 14, 2026. Effective dates of appointment are December 29, 2025 to May 1, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • TA is expected to attend in-person classes on Tuesday/Thursday 1:30-4:30 (January 5 - February 13).
  • Assist with the management and leading of students during activities.
  • Assist with grading of assessments.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of equipment.
Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate (master’s or PhD) student enrolled at McGill University, ideally the Kinesiology and Physical Education program.
  • Ed-Physical Education or equivalent – Experience in Outdoor Winter activities is an asset.
  • English, spoken and written.
  • French, spoken and written, is an asset.
