Job summary

Parkland School Division in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta, seeks an energetic Grade 2 teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The role includes prep coverage and a probationary/continuing assignment within a supportive, student-centered setting.

You will design and deliver Alberta curricula, differentiate for diverse learners, and partner with families and the local Indigenous community to foster belonging and success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education Degree required
  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate required
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, First Aid and Mental Health First Aid would be an asset
  • Strong background in assessment and differentiating instruction is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Implement innovative, student-centered teaching practices aligned with the Alberta Programs of Study.
  • Differentiate and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learners in an inclusive Kindergarten setting.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students, families, and the Fort Chipewyan community
  • Incorporate local Indigenous perspectives and land-based learning into daily lessons
  • Collaborate with school staff and multidisciplinary teams to maintain a welcoming, safe environment

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with school staff and multidisciplinary teams to maintain a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment where every student feels a sense of belonging.
  • Maintain the competencies and professional standards required by Alberta Education, contributing to the overall growth and success of Athabasca Delta Community School.
