Job summary

Rundle College Society is seeking a full-time Computer Science Teacher at Rundle College 7-12 in Calgary, Alberta. The role starts immediately and runs through June 30, 2027, with ongoing opportunities for professional development.

The successful candidate will teach CS to Grades 10-12, lead a Grade 10 advisory group, and coach Robotics as part of the co-curricular program. A collaborative, caring, and engaging classroom environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold Alberta Teaching Certification in good standing.
• Police information check with vulnerable sector verification within last 6 months.
• Flexible, collaborative, positive growth mindset.
• Proficient with educational technology and able to integrate it in pedagogy.

Position:

Rundle College Society is seeking a Teacher for a full-time Computer Science Teacher at Rundle College 7-12.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teach Computer Science in Grades 10-12
• Lead a Teacher Advisory group for Grade 10 students to support students’ character development.
• As part of a collaborative team, coach Robotics within our co-curricular program.
• Foster classroom routines that increase and enhance engagement.
• Collaborate with the Computer Science team to elevate the curriculum and incorporate innovation.
• Establish a warm, caring, and engaging learning environment where students feel safe, respected and valued.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to create a personalized learning experience for all students.
• Communicate effectively with parents to provide ongoing feedback and support.
• Participate in faculty and professional meetings, assemblies and various professional development opportunities;
• Attend events, report for supervision, and contribute to the co-curricular offerings, as is expected of a full-time teacher at Rundle.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Knowledge, Skills & Technical Ability:

• Alberta Teaching Certification in good standing
• Have a police information check completed with a vulnerable sector verification within the last 6 months
• Must be flexible, collaborative and have a positive, growth mindset
• Confident user of technology and able to utilize it in instructional practice.
• Ability to develop strong partnerships with teachers, parents, and administration
• Demonstrate an open mind and the desire to improve practice through professional reading and/or participating in relevant professional development opportunities
• Previous experience working in an independent school is considered an asset
• Multiple teachable-areas, such as math and/or science, is considered an asset.
