A major financial institution in Canada is seeking a full-time paralegal to assist with insurance legal matters in civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have a paralegal diploma and experience in insurance defense litigation. This role involves reviewing files, preparing documents, and communicating effectively with clients. Reporting to the Legal Office Supervisor / Senior Manager of Legal Support this role assists the Lawyers in handling P & C Insurance Legal Matters representing TD Insurance or its policy holders in civil litigation and no fault / accident benefits matters involving claims for monetary damages or compensation for personal injury or property damage.
Paralegal / Law Clerk diploma / certificate from a recognized educational institution or equivalent work experience at a reputable law firm or legal department.
1-5 years paralegal / law clerk experience or equivalent.
Background in insurance defense litigation including personal injury and accident benefit claims (preferred) and / or general litigation experience.
Knowledge of legal and court documents and procedures.
Knowledge of standard office equipment and word processing.
