Tax Supervisor – Public Accounting (Hybrid, Full-Time, Permanent)

Location: St. Catharines. Salary: $90,000–$115,000 per year.

The Role

As a Tax Supervisor, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional client service while overseeing a range of tax and assurance assignments. You'll manage complex tax files, guide junior team members, and ensure that all engagements meet the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review complex personal (T1), corporate (T2), and trust (T3) tax returns
  • Review CRA audit and assessment correspondence (payroll, HST, etc.)
  • Supervise and review compilation, review, and assurance engagements with a tax focus
  • Mentor and train co‑op students and junior associates, offering constructive feedback and professional guidance
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance tax and compliance efficiency
  • Stay current on evolving tax legislation and accounting standards to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Collaborate directly with clients to address inquiries and provide advisory support
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in public accounting (tax and assurance)
  • CPA designation or in progress is preferred
  • Strong understanding of Canadian tax legislation and ASPE
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
