Job summary

EY in Vancouver is seeking a Tax Staff or Senior Tax Staff with a background in applied sciences to support clients across Western Canada. The role focuses on incentives and capital investments, evaluating R&D projects, and preparing SRED submissions.

You’ll work with CEOs, CTOs, and engineers to drive value for clients. Ideal candidates hold degrees in chemistry, physics or related engineering fields, with graduate degrees as a strong asset, and experience in incentives/grants is preferred.

Qualifications

• A Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Physics or Chemical, Mining or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• A Graduate’s Degree in any of the noted applied sciences disciplines is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Meeting with client representatives including CEOs, CTOs, Technical Managers, and Engineers to evaluate R&D projects and prepare SRED claims.
• Assessing project eligibility, establishing its value and writing technical project descriptions detailing the innovation and experimental activities.
• Engaging in discussions on prototypes, experiments, process improvements, and new product development for leading companies in Canada.
• Coordinating, preparing, and participating in SRED reviews with CRA auditors.
• Managing the technical submission process which includes formulating and writing technical SRED submissions.

Bachelor's/ Diploma in Chemistry, Physics or Chemical, Mining or Mechanical Engineering
