LeBlanc & Maillet CPA is a growing team of twenty professionals. We provide tax planning and compliance, auditing and assurance, and bookkeeping services.We pride ourselves on providing professional services to small and medium sized businesses and individuals throughout New Brunswick.

Position Summary

We offer an excellent opportunity for a CPA Tax professional looking to build a career in public practice.

In this role, you will work closely with partners and management in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of tax filing requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review large corporate group returns, family trust and estate returns and select complex personal tax returns.
  • Staying up to date on changes in tax legislation and its impact on our clients as well as educating our team on these updates.
  • Perform tax research as necessary to assist with technical matters for the team.
  • Communicate with internal and external clients to respond to tax inquiries.
  • Assist in identifying tax issues and opportunities for planning mandates.
Qualifications
  • CPA designation, with completion of In-Depth Tax course with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to review large corporate groups and their complexities: Related party transactions and related & associated rules, investment income reporting, foreign reporting, specified corporate income rules and large corporation tax calculations.
  • Assist with remuneration strategies with regards to salaries and various forms of dividends (Capital, GRIP and other than eligible) as well calculations of various shareholder benefits.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian tax principles with strong problem solving and research abilities.Taking initiative to bring matters to Partner and Manager attention as needed.
  • Familiarity with Tax Prep software and Caseware would be an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
