Qualifications

• Community involvement through fundraising for Second Chance Animal Rescue is a must.

Heart & Dagger Tattoo is a small boutique tattoo studio based in the Westmount neighbourhood of Edmonton, Alberta, known for its creativity, craftsmanship, and collaborative approach. The studio offers a professional, welcoming environment where meaningful, high-quality tattoos are designed and executed with care. Artists specialize in custom work, transforming client stories and ideas into original pieces ranging from large-scale sleeves and back work to smaller, symbolic designs. We focus on custom tattoos, tattoo coverups, scar coverups, and mastectomy scar cover ups. We offer flash and accept walk-ins. The team works across diverse styles. Client experience, clear communication, safety, and cleanliness are central to the studio’s reputation as a leading destination for custom tattooing in Edmonton.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Tattoo Artist role located in Edmonton, AB. The Tattoo Artist will consult with clients to understand their ideas, provide professional guidance, and create custom designs that align with Heart & Dagger Tattoo’s standards of quality. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing workstations, maintaining hygiene and safety protocols, executing tattoos in a range of styles, and providing aftercare instructions. The role also involves collaborating with the studio team, managing appointment schedules, and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive client experience. The Tattoo Artist is expected to uphold professional conduct, follow studio policies, and support the overall reputation of the studio.

We offer a reasonable booth rent or percentage.

• Art and illustration abilities, with a solid portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical skill, and custom work.
• Customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and guide clients through the process.
• Experience or familiarity with tattoo cover-up techniques is an asset.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and sterilization standards, including bloodborne pathogen and infection control practices.
• Previous professional studio experience and a strong, up-to-date portfolio of tattoo work.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain a respectful, inclusive attitude toward clients and colleagues.

• Reliable time management, including punctuality, appointment management, and follow-through on consultations.
