A leading biotech company in Vancouver is seeking a Talent and Orientation Associate to support the recruitment team. The Talent and Orientation Associate is a pivotal support role for the Talent Acquisition team at STEMCELL. In this role, you will focus on recruitment administration, providing exceptional customer service as a first contact point for our new hires as they continue their career journeys with STEMCELL.
In your day to day, you will focus on administrative, logistical, and foundational relationship building tasks for the recruitment team, with a focus on onboarding and orientation. By collaborating closely with team members to support the recruitment and HR functions, you will be an integral part of supporting STEMCELL’s commitment to facilitating a warm and welcoming new hire experience.
Duties and responsibilities:
New Hire Onboarding: Serve as the primary point of contact for new employees, coordinating new hire paperwork, conducting background checks as necessary, and guiding new employees through the initial stages of their onboarding, including coordinating logistics such as onsite and virtual sessions, booking and preparing meeting spaces, and arranging necessary equipment
Organizational Support: Responsible for providing a high level of care and customer service to the business, including hiring managers, talent acquisition, other facilitators, and new hires during the entire orientation process
Team Coordination: Support the team with the full talent acquisition cycle, which can involve coordinating job postings, scheduling interviews, and managing the logistics of the hiring process
New Hire Feedback: Manage new hire orientation evaluation surveys, gathering input and feedback from employees, managers, and facilitators
Systems and Reporting: Support any system changes or process documentation as necessary, including but not limited to generating reports using Workday, our Learning Management System (LMS), new hire reports, and other metrics as needed to contribute to team projects and goals to improve process efficiency
Knowledge and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required, with a passion for the life sciences
2-3 years of experience in either learning & development, training, customer service and/or marketing, along with strong administration skills
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on providing a high level of service delivery and partnership with relevant stakeholders
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with an agile and adaptable mindset to work autonomously and handle shifting priorities and deadlines
Previous experience with facilitation is an asset, with experience using Google Suite and Learning Management Systems also preferred

The annual salary for this job ranges from:
$71,200.00 - $96,400.00
STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
