Job description

TheTalent Acquisition Specialist is accountable to the Manager, Human Resources to develop and execute long-term strategies focusing on attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent. Their purpose is to ensure the organization builds a strong, sustainable workforce by aligning hiring practices with business goals, enhancing employer branding, and creating talent pipelines for future needs.This role is responsible for ensuring a seamless and successful end-to-end recruitment experience including branding, application and process. This role oversees coordinating orientation and onboarding to support smooth employee integration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruitment Process
    Provides assistance to hiring managers on full-cycle recruitment needs across the organization. Postings on online job boards to attract qualified candidates, screening & engaging candidates, creating short lists and summaries, document feedback/interview notes, coordinating and participating in interview process, and conducting reference and background checks.Own and optimize the end-to-end candidate experience, ensuring timely, transparent, and engaging communication from initial contact through to offer or closure. Act as a strategic partner to hiring managers by delivering a recruitment process that is not only efficient and scalable, but also reflects and reinforces our employer brand at every touchpoint.
  • People Experience & Relationship Management
    Builds strong, trust-based relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to foster a positive and engaging employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle—from onboarding through to offboarding. Provides recommendations on initiatives focused on engagement, well-being, inclusion, and retention. Proactively communicates with candidates and employees to enhance transparency, belonging, and organizational culture. Manages vendor relationships (e.g., recruitment agencies), including agreement reviews and approvals from the HR Manager.
  • Sourcing and Attracting Talent
    Proactively sources and attracts candidates through a variety of channels, including online Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), LinkedIn, Indeed, university career centers, industry associations, and other professional networks. Continuously seeks and suggests innovative strategies to enhance talent acquisition efforts. Maintains a strong, diverse candidate pipeline to support timely and effective hiring across the organization. Conduct ongoing compensation benchmarking and market analysis to ensure our offers are competitive, equitable, and aligned with industry standards. Leverage market data to provide strategic guidance to hiring managers on compensation packages, helping to attract and retain top talent while maintaining internal alignment and budget considerations.
  • Applicant Tracking & Metrics
    Updates and maintains recruitment metrics through ATS and internal tracking systems and provides regular updates to managers. Ensure all applications are completed based on specified compliance standards to maintain data integrity. Provides feedback to Human Resources Manager on system efficiencies to ensure ATS is being continuously updated, adapted, and maintained for effective recruitment practices.
  • Talent and Capability Development
    Partners with HR leadership to evolve the Talent Acquisition and Talent Management frameworks, including the development of competency-based hiring guides, structured interview templates, and equitable assessment tools. Supports the creation and continuous improvement of job descriptions and external postings that reflect organizational values and talent needs while staying up to date with market and industry trends.
  • Operational Excellence & Administrative Oversight
    Reviews and contributes to employment documentation including offer letters, transfers, and promotions. Ensures seamless onboarding by coordinating the timely collection of new hire documents and supporting the employee integration process. Maintains a high standard of confidentiality, compliance, and accuracy in all talent-related documentation and processes.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education

  • College diploma in Human Resources or business-related field.
  • 5+ years of previous experience in human resources with directly handling full cycle recruitment
  • Experience with maintain strong industry connections via recruiting social networks including LinkedIn
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation as it relates to recruitment practices
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of MS Office Applications
  • Previous Experience with ATS
  • Partner with Human Resources team to facilitate skill assessment tests where required
