Job description

Location: This hybrid role requires 3 days on-site at our Burnaby, BC office and 2 days remote per week.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000
Actual compensation within the range will be based on experience
We also offer quarterly variable compensation package (bonus) + benefits

What You’ll Do

Purpose of the role

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will execute the full recruitment lifecycle for Canada Specsavers corporate (Support Office) and supply chain roles, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for both candidates and internal stakeholders. By leveraging a variety of sourcing methods and building strong candidate relationships, they will proactively create talent pipelines to meet current and future hiring needs. This role will also support the Talent Acquisition Manager in the continuous improvement of recruitment processes, support DEI initiatives, and uphold the Specsavers brand and Employee Value Proposition.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and an excellent internal client and candidate experience.
  2. Utilize a variety of sourcing methods to attract diverse, high-quality candidates, including headhunting, job boards, social media, networking, and employee referrals.
  3. Use proactive sourcing techniques to build talent pipelines that meet current and future team needs.
  4. Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional partners, becoming a trusted partner and providing an excellent hiring manager experience.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, ensuring a positive experience throughout the recruitment process.
  6. Coordinate interview schedules, feedback sessions, and candidate communications.
  7. Facilitate the offer process, negotiate terms, and ensure a smooth transition for successful candidates.
  8. Maintain accurate candidate data and tracking of TA metrics within the ATS and in our reporting tools.
  9. Continuously suggest improvements and assist the TA Manager with the development of recruitment processes, tools, and best practices.
  10. Understand key aspects of both candidate and hiring manager experience to bring our TA Strategy and Employee Value Proposition to life.
  11. Champion the Specsavers brand to candidates and contribute to evolving our Employee Value Proposition.
  12. Support the implementation of DEI and inclusive recruitment strategies to ensure fair selection processes and a diverse candidate pool.
  13. Provide recruitment support and guidance to Retail Partners as needed.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  1. 2-3 years of experience in either agency or in-house talent acquisition, with a proven ability to manage full-cycle recruitment processes.
  2. Proactive headhunting experience, particularly via LinkedIn.
  3. Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices, including sourcing methods, interview techniques, and candidate assessment.
  4. Comfort with leveraging an ATS for day-to-day recruitment.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates and collaborate effectively with hiring managers.
  6. High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  7. Adaptable and open to change, with the ability to thrive in a rapidly growing environment.

Nice to have

  1. Experience in using advanced sourcing tools and techniques, such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searches, and talent mapping.
