What You’ll Be Doing

As a member of the Human Resources Talent Acquisition team, you’ll proactively source and assess best-in-class external talent, hiring team members that can help us deliver an exceptional client and employee experience. As a Campus Talent Acquisition Partner, you will join CIBC’s Campus Talent Acquisition team to support the recruitment strategies for the enterprise. The role provides high quality recommendations for strategies, timelines and best recruitment practices to recruit for student/co‑op opportunities. Important duties of this role will include recommending which schools to engage for recruitment activities, sourcing candidates, building and maintaining relationships with Career Centers and Program Managers as well as recommending process and program enhancements.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on‑site, while other days will be remote.

Important Information
  • 1+ years of recruitment experience (preferably supporting the campus space).
  • Execute on recruitment strategies.
  • Manage requisition and hiring processes.
  • Support planning and execution of recruitment events.
  • Active involvement in special projects within TA or cross functional teams.
  • An ability to have purposeful advisory conversations with business partners and candidates.
  • Track record of recruiting success and a caring approach to candidate management.
  • Support students onboarding and offboarding.
  • Effectively manage workload to meet recruitment deadlines while consistently providing status updates.
How You’ll Succeed
  • Strategic Sourcing – Establish connections, maintain and leverage a professional online and social media presence, through your network. Make recommendations, assist in the coordination and presentation of all student events including orientation sessions, networking events, information sessions and student receptions.
  • Recruitment Operations – Support hiring teams across the portfolio in posting positions, creating curated resume packages focused on key under‑represented groups, returning students and referrals aligned to the SBU supporting. Diligent and timely management of candidate short lists offers and first day onboarding for varying recruitment cycles. Support Hiring Managers with key onboarding tasks ahead of student start dates each cycle.
  • Business Acumen – Keep up to date on labour market trends and competitor information, providing business partners with insights and recommendations that will improve the quality of external hires. Provide students and Career Centers with an efficient, accessible and knowledgeable support system with timely responses to their questions and concerns.
  • Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong professional relationships with hiring managers, internal partners, and candidates. Deliver a best‑in‑class candidate experience by managing your talent pipeline, acknowledging all applicants, and engaging in regular communication. Consult with business partners on Talent Acquisition processes, activities and outcomes to position yourself as a valued partner.
