Qualifications

  • Negative TB Test completed within the last year.
  • Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
  • Prepare meals in accordance with client/family requests.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities and hygiene.

We are looking for awesome Tagalog-speaking Personal Support Workers to work in Toronto with a client near St.Clair and Avenue in Midtown Toronto for ONGOING support on SUNDAYS with the possibility of more ongoing shifts throughout the week.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
  • Provide companionship and light housekeeping (whatever it takes to help a senior stay at home).
  • Prepare meals in accordance to the client and / or the family's request (must be open to preparing different kinds of cuisine).
  • Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs that is within the scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker
  • Assists clients in all activities of daily living / hygiene assistance, bathing, grooming, linen changes and so forth.
  • Assists clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises.
  • Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly.
  • Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description.
  • Completes records and documentations accurately and thoroughly.
Schedule
  • Set schedule, day shifts 9am-7pm SUNDAYS
  • must be able to commit to this schedule on a consistent, on-going weekly basis for the foreseeable future
  • client is looking for someone who will be with the long-term and can provide consistent care.
  • there may be an opportunity for additional ongoing shifts throughout the week
Requirements
  • Must be able to travel outside of Canada as the client is looking to travel with PSW support.
  • An asset if you own vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)
  • Negative TB Test completed within the last year
  • Personal Support Worker Certification or International nursing / doctorate Certification
  • Valid CPR / First Aid Certificate
  • Valid WHMIS2015 Certificate of Completion
  • COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to Ontario’s Human Rights Code
  • Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Designers when needed.
