Job summary

3Pillar is seeking a Senior Tableau Specialist/Architect to define enterprise Tableau standards, enable scalable self‑service analytics, and drive best practices across reporting and data visualization initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years in BI/Analytics, 5+ years in Tableau architecture, and strong SQL plus data modeling capabilities. Collaboration with Data Engineering and Product teams is essential, with a focus on performance and governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Business Intelligence and Analytics experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Tableau architecture and administration experience.
• Deep understanding of Tableau Cloud, Tableau Server, Tableau Desktop, and Tableau Prep.
• Experience designing scalable BI solutions across large datasets.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, dimensional modeling, and analytics architecture.
• Proven expertise developing/integrating BI solutions with large Data Lakes or Enterprise Data Warehouses.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases.
• Experience with performance tuning and dashboard optimization.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise Tableau architecture, standards, and best practices.
• Design scalable analytics solutions leveraging Tableau Cloud/Server, Tableau Prep, and related Tableau ecosystem tools.
• Participate or Lead data modeling initiatives to support high-performance dashboards and reports.
• Optimize dashboard performance, data extract strategies, and dashboard query performance.
• Design and maintain semantic and reporting layers for enterprise analytics.
• Evaluate and implement capabilities within Tableau Data Management, Tableau Data 360, Tableau Pulse, and emerging Tableau technologies.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Product, and Application Development teams.
• Guide modernization initiatives involving Analytics Platform and existing Enterprise Data Lake
• Familiar with governance, security, data quality, and metadata management practices.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to analytics and development teams.

Senior Tableau Specialist/Architect

Position Summary

This role will be responsible for defining Tableau architecture standards, enabling scalable self-service analytics, improving dashboard performance, and driving best practices across reporting and data visualization initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong current technical expertise in Tableau with data architecture and business intelligence experience and can mentor team members while partnering with business and technology stakeholders to deliver impactful analytics solutions.

• Nice to have - Tableau Certified Professional or equivalent certification.
