Job summary

A regional school district in Nanaimo is seeking a 0.50 FTE Blended Learning Teacher for Grades 8-12. The role requires the ability to teach Compass and Humanities as well as elective courses with face-to-face instruction in the Nanaimo/Parksville area. Candidates must excel in online course management and have experience supporting diverse learners, including those with I.E.P.s. This position promotes inclusivity and encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Ability to create and manage online courses and assessments.
  • Experience providing tutorial support for both online and in-person students.
  • Competence in adapting courses to meet student needs.

Responsibilities
  • 0.50 FTE Grades 8-12 Blended Learning Teacher : Compass & Humanities with the ability to teach electives.
  • Compass : located in Nanaimo / Parksville BC - must be able to provide face to face instruction in location.
  • Please note that this anticipatory position is subject to enrollment.
Qualifications
  • Ability to create and manage online courses, assignments, assessments and resources incorporating current pedagogical frameworks (i.e. project based personalized)
  • Ability to work with and provide tutorial support for students online and in person
  • Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s
  • Ability to utilize the following online tools : Brightspace (or equivalent online learning management system), MyEd, Seesaw, Mathletics, Learning A-Z, Zoom, Teams
