Overview

Job Description — What is the opportunity?

Act as a key contributor to the development of the 1st Line of Defense (1LOD) quality assurance control program, coordinating efforts across various subject matter areas. Apply expertise to establish a comprehensive framework for quality assurance reporting across 1LOD teams, and develop insightful reports for senior management and committees, highlighting QA metrics, trends, root causes, and resolutions. Conduct thorough Quality Assurance control reviews for supplier monitoring activities and other artifacts for conformance to RBC Enterprise Third Party Risk Management Policy and all applicable standards and procedures. Research and report on inconsistencies discovered in ongoing monitoring activities and track those inconsistencies through to resolution in partnership with the T&O SMO Risk Leads. Communicate and interact daily with businesses on supplier management matters, including compliance, service quality, and transformational changes in processes and technologies. Demonstrate a strong understanding of risk management by providing training and awareness to colleagues, ensuring adherence to the RBC Enterprise Third Party Risk Management Policy and associated standards. Drive issue resolution by escalating concerns to management when necessary and recommending appropriate actions. Expertise will drive automation and leverage of AI to enhance program development and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Previous experience ensuring supplier risk management processes are robust, effective, and compliant with regulatory requirements

  • Previous experience conducting Quality Assurance control reviews for supplier monitoring activities

  • Strong reporting skills, including previous experience reporting on inconsistencies discovered – skilled with Excel

  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication. Must be skilled at presenting information clearly and persuasively to different stakeholder groups

Nice-to-have
  • Industry Insight: An understanding of the financial services industry or technology sector, coupled with a familiarity with regulatory environments

  • Previous experience supporting technology teams

  • Degree or Diploma in relevant field, coupled with experience in Third Party Supplier management, IT Risk management practices in the financial services industry

  • Interest in AI and innovation - knowledge of SaaS, data management concepts and governance practices
