Job summary

Alstom in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC, is seeking a Systems Specialist – Cybersecurity for an on-site role three days per week. You will apply Systems Engineering to embed cybersecurity into railway systems and support engineering teams across disciplines to deliver secure, compliant solutions.

You’ll work with Systems, Electrical, Software, Control, Validation and RAMS teams, providing guidance, mentoring and technical coaching while advancing security best practices on projects worldwide.

Qualifications

  • You need a degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Control Engineering.
  • Experience on complex engineering projects is required.
  • Experience in rail, aerospace, automotive, or safety-critical industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate cybersecurity into railway systems with Systems Engineering rigor.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure solutions.
  • Review engineering deliverables for compliance with cybersecurity standards.
  • Provide technical coaching and act as cybersecurity reference for teams.

Could you be the full-time Systems Specialist – Cybersecurity in St-Bruno-de-Montarville we’re looking for? This position requires an on-site presence three days per week. To make your life easier, shuttle services are available between Montreal and the St-Bruno site!


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your Systems Engineering expertise in a cutting-edge and rapidly evolving field. You’ll work alongside innovative and collaborative teammates.

You’ll play a pivotal role in integrating cybersecurity into railway systems while leveraging your Systems Engineering expertise to solve complex technical challenges. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Systems, Electrical, Software, Control, Validation, and RAMS Engineering teams), provide technical coaching and guidance, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of supporting engineering teams in integrating cybersecurity requirements into railway systems, but also act as a key technical reference for multidisciplinary teams.

We’ll look to you for:

Collaborating with Systems, Electrical, Software, Control, Validation, and RAMS Engineering teams throughout project execution.

Supporting engineering teams in integrating cybersecurity requirements into railway systems.

Reviewing engineering deliverables and ensuring compliance with engineering and cybersecurity standards.

Acting as the local cybersecurity reference for engineering teams.

Supporting bids and project execution activities.

Delivering technical coaching and awareness sessions.

Helping improve engineering and cybersecurity best practices across projects.

Working closely with Digital Services and multidisciplinary engineering teams.


All about you

You don’t need to be a cybersecurity expert to succeed in this role. We’re looking first and foremost for an experienced Systems Specialist who enjoys learning, collaborating and solving complex engineering challenges. If you already have cybersecurity experience, that’s a plus. If not, we’ll help you build it. We have listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

A degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Control Engineering.

Experience working on complex engineering projects.

Experience in rail, aerospace, automotive, or other safety-critical industries.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

An interest in cybersecurity and emerging technologies.

Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.

Exposure to cybersecurity standards or secure system design (nice to have).

Experience delivering technical guidance or mentoring (nice to have).

Membership in the OIQ (or eligibility) is an asset.
