Overview

The job is 100% on site. Interviews will be on MS Teams. Ideal candidates will have 1-3 years experience; recent graduates and internships are OK. Please don't submit candidates with 5+ years experience. Some experience with Python / scripting is a plus. Education requirements: Bachelor in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Can also consider mechanical, software engineering / system design.

Role

We are looking for a highly motivated System Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the development of methodologies, the execution of system integration plans, and debugging of failures. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with Architecture, Design, Pre-silicon and Post-silicon integration teams to improve test content and provide feedback for future debug and test features. You will participate in all phases of post-silicon validation cycle, responsible for ensuring AMD products meet performance and industry standards through comprehensive testing, analysis, and optimizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Signal Integrity: Perform detailed electrical signal integrity testing on high speed IO interfaces, perform tuning to optimize product performance, debug to root cause and resolve issues.
  • IO Compliance Certification: Ensure that IO interfaces comply with industry LOGO standards (e.g. PCIe, USB, DP, HDMI, MIPI) and requirements by conducting thorough compliance certification testing.
  • Design Support: Collaborate with design engineers to review IO circuit designs and layout, providing feedback to improve signal integrity and compliance.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze test results, identifying areas of concern and make recommendations.
  • Test Plan Development: Develop and implement comprehensive test plans for HSIO interfaces.
  • Automation: develop automation to improve test efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Documentation and Reporting: create and maintain detailed reports on test procedures, results, and project status. Document any discrepancies and work with relevant teams to address them.
  • Standard Compliance: Interface with LOGO bodies to keep abreast of changes in industry standards and implement changes in testing procedures and program reviews to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including hardware design, PHY design, board design, and customer engineering throughout the product development lifecycle.
Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Solid background in IC technology and computer architecture.
  • Experience with high-speed IO signal integrity testing and compliance in a hardware engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of IO interfaces such as PCIe, USB, DP, HDMI, etc.
  • Experience with Python and scripting languages.
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Familiar with schematics, PCB layout, hardware system setup, Windows and apps.
  • Familiar with Linux.
