Job summary

TEEMA is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Satellite Ground Segment in Richmond, BC. You will translate operational needs into technical requirements, develop CONOPS, and drive the systems engineering lifecycle across architecture, design, and verification with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires strong communication skills and experience in requirements management, with a focus on large-scale, complex space systems. On-site in Richmond, BC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong practical experience with the systems engineering lifecycle.
• Experience with requirements engineering including decomposition, allocation, and traceability.
• Experience contributing to large-scale or complex multidisciplinary systems.
• Ability to translate high-level requirements to subsystem level and verify designs.

What you will be doing:

• Work directly with internal and external customers to understand operational needs and translate them into technical requirements

• Develop CONOPS and other systems engineering documentation

• Translate high-level customer and system requirements into lower-level system, subsystem and feature requirements

• Perform requirements decomposition, allocation and traceability

• Support system architecture, design and interface definition

• Perform engineering analyses and trade studies to support system and subsystem design decisions

• Develop engineering plans, requirements specifications, Interface Control Documents and operational concepts

• Work with multidisciplinary development teams to ensure requirements are correctly translated into implemented solutions

• Support subsystem and system-level integration, verification and validation

• Trace requirements through design and ultimately into testing

• Present technical designs, recommendations and reports to internal and external stakeholders

• Participate in design reviews and customer-facing technical discussions

• Support project planning, work estimates and engineering activities throughout the program lifecycle

What you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Physics or a related engineering discipline

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience

• Strong practical experience working through the systems engineering lifecycle

• Experience with requirements engineering, including requirements decomposition, allocation and traceability

• Experience contributing to the design and delivery of large-scale or complex multidisciplinary systems

• Ability to work from high-level customer requirements through subsystem requirements, design, integration and verification

• Understanding of engineering lifecycles spanning complex engineering programs and software development

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively with customers and multidisciplinary technical teams

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary/Rate Range: $95,000-$150,000 equivalent range
