Job summary

CGL in Canada is seeking a Systems Developer to join an IT team in a hybrid work model. You will design, implement, and maintain system-based solutions using C#/.NET Core and SQL Server, with CI/CD via GitHub Actions and Azure services.

You will translate requirements into working plans, write code, perform unit testing, and support testing and defect resolution while collaborating with IT partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in information technology or a related field.
• Post-secondary education in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Ability to translate requirements into a cohesive plan and communicate analysis and results.

Responsibilities

• Write code to implement functionalities and features of small to medium complexity.
• Create an implementation and back-out plan for a single system.
• Perform unit testing and support system and user acceptance testing.

As the Systems Developer you will be a member of an integral team responsible for developing system-based solutions by formulating programs, developing and maintaining codes and documenting processes for consistency and continuous improvement. You will contribute to a range of moderately complex and diverse team initiatives with the support of your team members.

Technologies you have experience with:

• Intermediate‑level experience designing and building web‑based applications.
• Proficiency with C# and .NET Core development.
• Proficiency with Visual Studio for application development.
• Experience working with SQL Server (design, queries, optimization).
• Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
• Experience with Azure services, including containerized workloads, Key Vaults, and cloud‑based application development.
• Experience with SDLC, DevOps practices (GitHub), and software design patterns.
• Working knowledge of developing and utilizing APIs.
• Working knowledge of containerized application frameworks.

How you will create impact:

• Translating requirements into a cohesive working plan in accordance with guidelines and standards.

• Performing unit testing for developed code, supporting system and user acceptance testing, and resolving defects by troubleshooting root causes.
• Fostering productive relationships with Information Technology (IT) business partners and communicating analysis and results accordingly.

Expected salary range $60,574 to $100,956

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
