Job summary

Aviso Wealth in Vancouver is seeking a System Support Technician to join the IT End User Services team. You will provide technical support to internal and external users, respond to requests, troubleshoot issues, and deliver effective solutions.

The role requires post-secondary IT education, strong Microsoft 365 skills, and excellent customer service. Fluent English is required; French is a plus. Onsite rotation and 24/7 on-call are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary certificate or diploma in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and troubleshooting in a Microsoft network environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Fluent English (French an asset) and willingness to on-call on rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to support requests via phone, email and ServiceDesk for internal and external end users.
  • Triages requests and coordinates with IT teams and external providers to meet SLAs.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots computer systems, hardware, and software.
  • Supports Active Directory and access rights, and phone/call center systems.
  • Onsite rotation work and 24/7 on-call availability as required.

The Opportunity

We are looking to fill an opening for a System Support Technician to join our IT team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT End User Services the System Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support to internal and external users by responding to requests for assistance, troubleshooting issues, and providing solutions.

What your day looks like:
  • Responds in a timely manner to incoming support requests via phone, email and ServiceDesk, providing support to internal and external end users on a variety of technical issues
  • Triages incoming support requests to ensure they are routed to the appropriate technical group
  • Tracks and monitors technical issues, coordinates, and works with internal IT staff and external service providers to ensure resolution to agreed service levels
  • Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots software problems
  • Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals
  • Software installations as approved
  • Supports and maintains user accounts, including Active Directory and various other systems
  • Assigns appropriate rights and access levels, and performs general network administrative tasks based on business requirements
  • Supports phone and call center systems, including DID and extension assignments, phone set programming, and troubleshooting
  • Supports mobile phone users, troubleshoots technical issues with mobile devices
  • Adheres to opening and closing shift duty checklists
Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Completion of a post-secondary certificate or diploma in IT or equivalent experience
  • Some technical support in an enterprise environment would be an asset. Experience with investment industry data systems such as Dataphile would be an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of current business hardware and software technologies
  • Proficient in all Microsoft 365 products
  • Skilled at troubleshooting in a Microsoft network environment
  • Highly self-motivated and results oriented and able to work under pressure with tight schedules
  • Outgoing and dynamic, with the ability to quickly establish rapport with others across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent customer service skills and has a sense of pride in establishing and maintaining client relations and resolving crisis situations quickly
  • Extremely detail oriented and accurate
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
  • Available for 24/7 On-Call support on a rotation basis
  • Available to work Onsite in one of our corporate offices on a rotation basis

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
