Job description

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self‑directed Switchboard/Health Records Clerk to support the Health Information department.

Under the general supervision of the HIM Coordinator, the Switchboard/Health Records Clerk performs clerical duties related to creating and maintaining patient records, record retrieval, assembly, quantitative analysis, release of information, and clerical duties relating to the admission and discharge of patients including registration. Tasks include answering phones, taking messages, transferring calls, faxing reports, and restocking supplies.

Requirements: Medical terminology and typing 45 wpm required. Must be available to work days and evening shifts.

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 24‑bed facility with a variety of services including acute care, internal medicine, ultrasound, CT scans, surgery, emergency department, extended care, pediatrics, radiology, obstetrics, gynecology, diabetes education, rehabilitation, podiatry, orthopedics and visiting specialists.
