Job summary

Total Oilfield Rentals (TOR) is seeking a Swamper based in Leduc, Alberta. You will report to the Branch Manager and assist the Driver with dispatched jobs, rig setup and vehicle maintenance, while ensuring a clean, safe work site. The role is permanent/full-time at our Leduc location.

Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with possible overtime. The position involves following safety protocols and supporting the crew with various manual tasks as required.

• 1 year related experience
• First Aid, H2S, Common Safety Orientation tickets

• Help setup and teardown of rigs and equipment
• Maintain an orderly and safe job site

• Maintain cab and mirrors clean and assist with washing units

Job description

Total Oilfield Rentals (TOR) offers rental and transportation of drilling, completion and production equipment to the oil and natural gas industry throughout Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Our mission is to exceed customer expectations by supplying superior rental equipment, transportation services and product support.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Branch Manager and under the direct supervision of the Driver, the Swamper is responsible for assisting the Driver with duties related to dispatched jobs and basic truck maintenance. The Swamper will also be responsible assist operators and other crew members with a variety of manual labour-related tasks, including the set-up and pull-down of rigs and equipment, pre- and post-trip inspections and maintaining an orderly and safe job site.

This position is permanent/full time and is based out of our Leduclocation.

Time Commitment

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.You may be required from time to time to work outside these hours as the need arises. Schedule may be altered at the discretion of management.

Summary of Duties(Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

• Must be in communication with the driver at all times (e.g. eye contact, verbal, hand signals)
• Personal protection equipment is required at all times
• Be aware of all job hazards
• Be able to identify all hazards
• Assist driver with the pre/post trip inspections
• Assist driver with:
  • Loading and unloading
  • Decking on and off trailers
  • Chaining up tires when required
  • Pulling winch lines
  • Hooking and unhooking load slings
  • Tag lines
  • Stabilizer pads when required
  • Guiding driver on location (also known as spotting on location)
  • Inspecting rigging before, during, and after use
  • Maintenance of units
• Is responsible to help keep cab and mirrors clean
• Is responsible to help wash unit
• Responsible for the safety of other workers
• Must comply with Total's and customer/client policies and procedures at all times
• Other related shop duties as required
