Position Summary
- The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina invites applications for one (potentially two) Sessional Lecturer(s) to teach the following course during the Winter 2026 semester.
- Course: SW 405 – Social Work with Indigenous Peoples
- Delivery method: to be determined based on the instructor hired; preference for face‑to‑face in person between North Battleford and Meadow Lake, with possible distance learning components.
- Semester dates: January 6, 2026 – April 13, 2026 (final exam period April 16–29, 2026).
- Expectations: teach 13 synchronous classes throughout the semester (actual number TBD based on delivery method).
Responsibilities
- Prepare the course outline, design relevant assignments, evaluate and grade student work, and submit grades by the required deadline.
- Teach course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines.
- Deliver 13 lectures throughout the semester (number of classes dependent on the delivery method).
- Encourage and maintain a safe and collaborative classroom environment.
- Provide regular support to students on coursework during office hours, and as required by students.
- Consult with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student‑related matters as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master of Social Work (MSW).
- Demonstrated related experience appropriate to the course content.
- Superior communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Recent teaching experience in a post‑secondary environment is considered an asset.
- Candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada; work must be performed within Canada.

Additional Information
The preferred delivery method is face‑to‑face in person, traveling between North Battleford and Meadow Lake. The day and times are flexible based on the instructor hired. The instructor may be eligible for coverage of travel costs. The Sessional Lecturer is expected to teach lectures, be in the classroom or Zoom classroom 10‑15 minutes before each class starts, and offer regular office hours each week.
