Aviva Canada Inc. has an excellent and rare opportunity within our Distribution team! We are seeking a dedicated SVP, National Distribution Partners t o play a key role in develop ing & execut ing the strategy to drive the national relationship strategy across Aviva .

This role is responsible for building and executing a comprehensive distribution strategy to support significant business growth. The successful candidate will lead national broker relationships, manage key performance indicators, and align cross-functional teams—including Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Underwriting, and Pricing—to deliver on national goals. With a focus on innovation, performance management, and long-term profitability, this role plays a critical part in shaping the future of Aviva Canada’s distribution channels.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver a consistent and effective national relationships experience with our top brokers

  • Collaborate with regional BD leaders on national relationships including national performance management of KPIs

  • Identify emerging issues/challenges and develop and execute on innovative strategies and propositions to secure the long-term viability and profitability of Aviva’s national distribution channels across Commercial Lines, and Personal Lines .

  • Ensures profitability focus, and increasing Broker and Consumer NPS scores

  • In collaboration with Underwriting Leadership, allocate /distribute specific sales and profitability targets and ensure that performance is tracked, reported and delivered relative to these.

  • Ensures that priorities, initiatives, and related goals are set annually to continuously improve the business.

  • Maintains effective national relationships, addressing both proactive planning and growth as well as responsive remediation of issues.

  • Ensures that the external competitive environment is continuously monitored

  • Monitors & reviews all underwriting policies & practices and provides recommendations on the appropriateness of those practices

  • Act as the corporate representative to regulators, and represent the enterprise to customers, suppliers and external bodies in the development.

  • Develop and maintain controls to effectively manage corporate risk associated with role

  • Provide leadership to projects and programs across distribution and broker community including broker rollout strategy and change management framework

  • Additionally, this role is responsible for leading the Risk and Control, Training and Analytics functions for Business Development . Enabling data driven decisions to execute on the Distribution strategy and plan.

What you'll bring:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or commerce or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) also desirable

  • Over 15 years’ experience in e xtensive property & casualty business experience with significant team leadership, marketing, and negotiation experience.

  • Requires a very high level of both written & verbal communication skills to be able to persuade, influence & negotiate with the various stakeholders (internal and/or external), to grow the business.

  • A high degree of both strategic and analytical thinking and creativity are required to effectively execute strategic & marketing initiatives to ensure success & meeting business plan goals.

  • Decision-making responsibility associated with this role will be significant and critical to build and execute the Aviva Insurance business plan.

  • High financial, operational, and reputational impacts on decisions affecting Aviva’s bottom line . Significant dollar volume of business. Impact of errors is extremely costly, and Service Delivery is critical to retaining clients.

  • Ability to engage and motivate the team and develop talent
