Position Overview

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Surveyor to join our team. Surveyors at Kiewit are responsible for providing accurate and reliable surveying services for various infrastructure and construction projects across the West Coast. You bring your extensive experience in construction surveying, including earthwork, structural layouts, and utility placements to work closely with project managers, engineers, and field crews in order to ensure all measurements and layouts are precise and meet project specifications.

Location

Kiewit’s Western Canada District is headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, and underground utilities. Our current opportunities are spread across the entire West Coast of Canada including local and rotation projects within British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, and the United States. Frequent and rotational travel is required.#LI-RP1

Responsibilities
  • Conduct field surveys for various construction projects, including topographic, boundary, and construction layout surveys.
  • Perform accurate calculations and data collection for project layouts, including staking for grading, utilities, and structural elements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure that survey data is accurately interpreted and implemented.
  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment, such as total stations, GPS systems, and levels, ensuring that all instruments are calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed survey records, including field notes, sketches, maps, and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of as-built surveys and documentation to ensure that project deliverables meet client and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring that surveying activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any surveying-related issues that arise during the course of a project.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest surveying technologies, methods, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS systems, and levels.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all surveying tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various project sites as required.

Compensation:$35.00 -45.00
